savigynos imtynės statusas T sritis Kūno kultūra ir sportas apibrėžtis Sportinės imtynės, kurių pagrindą sudaro daugelio pasaulio tautų iš kartos į kartą perduodami nacionalinių imtynių veiksmai (apie 5000 veiksmingiausių gynimosi ir puolimo veiksmų). Savigynos imtynes sudaro viena kitą papildančios 3 dalys: 1) sportinė (fizinių ir moralinių ypatybių); 2) savigynai būtinų įgūdžių – metimų, suėmimų, apvertimų ir kt. – ugdymas; 3) kovinė ir gynimosi (smūgiai rankomis, kojomis, smaugimo veiksmai stovint, skausmingieji veiksmai į plaštaką, stuburą, gynimosi nuo jų, nuginklavimo ir kt.). Atsirado XX a. 4-ąjį dešimtmetį. Tarptautinė savigynos imtynių federacija (FIAS) įkurta 1985 m. Iki tol savigynos imtynėmis rūpinosi Tarptautinės imtynių mėgėjų federacijos Savigynos komitetas. Europos čempionatai rengiami nuo 1972 m., pasaulio – vyrų nuo 1973 m., moterų nuo 1983 m. Į olimpinių žaidynių programą savigynos imtynės įtrauktos 1980 m. Lietuvoje kultivuojamos nuo 1948 m. Lietuvos imtynininkai Č. Jezerskas buvo Europos (1972 m.) ir pasaulio (1973, 1974, 1975 m.), o A. Songaila (1976 m.), F. Jankauskas (1991 m.), R. Pocevičius (1991, 1994 m.), M.
